We are thrilled to announce that our orientation and training schedule is live in the Wish & Volunteer Center! To register for an upcoming session, please choose the training that best fits your schedule.

The Wish Discovery and Wish Boost positions are specialized roles that require specific training on how to interact directly with our wish kids and families.

Requirements:

  • Create volunteer account in the Wish & Volunteer Center Portal
  • Register and attend a 1-hour volunteer orientation
  • Schedule and complete a volunteer interview (virtual)
  • Successfully complete volunteer background check
  • Trainings take place the second Thursday + Saturday of every month and are conducted by a member of the Community Engagement Team? (need to confirm frequency)

Make-A-Wish University (MAWU) Trainings

Your next step in making wishes come true starts in Make‑A‑Wish University—have you logged in yet?

Make‑A‑Wish University is an online training platform for Make‑A‑Wish volunteers. It provides short, easy‑to‑follow courses that introduce our mission, the wish‑granting process, and important information to help volunteers feel confident and prepared in their role. All trainings are completed online at your own pace and help ensure a positive, safe experience for wish kids and families.

Volunteers are required to complete the following trainings:

To get started:

  1. Visit https://mawu.wish.org
  2. Click the blue “I AM A VOLUNTEER” tile on the left (see attached screenshot).
  3. Make sure the heading above the login fields says “Volunteer Login.”
  4. Enter your login credentials:
    • Username: Will be the same email address you use for the Volunteer Portal to sign up for wishes.
    • Password: Wish! (no spaces; please change this after logging in by selecting Forgot Password on the login page).
